CO-ED State Cup Rules

 

A TSSAS representative will check in all players for eligibility. A player must be in uniform and present an official laminated USASA player pass. Teams must be present on the fields a minimum of 30 minutes prior to game time in order to be ready for inspection. The referee is still responsible for player safety issues.

 

A maximum of 25 USSF registered players shall be eligible to play and all may dress out for a game.

 

The point system shall be as follows:                                      Tie breakers shall be as follows:

             6 points – win                                                             1. Result of head to head

             3 points – tie                                                               2. Goal differential ( goals for minus goals against)

             1 point  -  shutout                                                       3.  Most goals scored

             A maximum of 3 points for up to 3 goals.                 4.  Coin Toss

             A forfeit win is 2-0.

             Maximum 10 points per game.

 

The playing rules shall be the rules adopted by the U.S. Amateur Soccer Association for the National Amateur Challenge Cup with the following exceptions:

1.      Semi Finals or Final:  If a game ends in a tie, the following rules apply: 2-15 minute halves will be played. If the game is still tied, penalty shots will be taken from the penalty mark in accordance with Law 14, FIFA Rules with the following exceptions: Of the five players, two must be female and of the first three kickers on a team, one must be a female.  If still tied, additional penalty shots will be taken by additional players ( in pairs) until one team misses. In penalty kicks all player goals count as 1 point. 

2.      The goalkeeper may be male or female, the team's choice. The 10 field players may consist of more than 5 women, but no more than 5 men. A team short of women players must play short, however, a team must have 7 players on the field to be eligible to play.

3.      Offensive goals:

                                                Mens  = 1 point

                                                Womens = 2 points

            Maximum number of goals scored by any one male player is 2, for a total of 2 points.

4.      If there is a penalty in regulation game time (90 min.) and overtime (2-15 minute halves) women’s goals will count as 2 points. Only when a team goes to FIFA, penalty kicks in overtime will women’s goals count as 1 point. In case of a deflection, the last offensive player will determine the number of points, but if a player scores a goal on his/her own team by deflection, the goal will count as 1 point regardless of who deflects the ball in.

5.      NO SLIDE TACKLES. Slide tackles are prohibited and carry an automatic yellow card. The game is to be restarted by an indirect-free kick by the opposing team from the site of the infraction, unless the offense is committed by a player in his opponents goal area, in which case the free kick shall be taken from a point anywhere within that half of the goal area in which the offense occurred.

6.      All drop balls must be taken by two opposing women.

7.      Penalty kicks may be taken by female or male player. If the female scores it will count as 2 points, if a male scores it will count as 1 point.

 

Fines to Teams:

        1.   A team dropping out of the STC after the schedule is distributed.        $ 250.00

        2.    A team not ready for inspection 30 minutes prior to game time.          $  50.00

        3.    Players receiving a yellow card.                                                            $  10.00

        4.    Players receiving a red card.                                                                  $  30.00
