Major League Soccer in Houston
Help us bring MLS to Houston in 2004!
Dear Soccer Supporter:
It has been reported in the media that Major League Soccer is looking to expand to other cities in 2004. Houston, with its diverse demographics and growing soccer community, is a strong candidate. In my discussions with MLS, it is clear that we must accomplish a number of things for the decision to swing in our favor:
1. A proper stadium facility
2. An expression of market support
3. An ownership group
There are several venues that could easily be used as a stadium facility until a soccer specific stadium is built. I believe that the market support is very strong-attendance at international matches held in our city is proof of that. Probably the single greatest factor to be considered in deciding which U.S. cities are viable venues for MLS is the level of market support. To that end, I would like to gather additional information to promote our cause through the following survey/petition.
The information collected will only be used for the purpose of attracting an MLS franchise. It may even help us to find an ownership group! Please take a few moments to tell us about yourself, and to give us some feedback that might indicate your level of support and help us attract an MLS team.
Thank you very much for your interest in bringing Major League Soccer to Houston!
